Mumbai, 02 Apr 2024 (Commoditiescontrol):Moong prices across major markets in India remained stable during a lackluster trading session on Tuesday. Some markets remain closed and are expected to reopen tomorrow.
Meanwhile, NAFED (National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India) put out a new tender for approximately 8,500 MT of moong during the previous week. Bids for the tender ranged between Rs 7,700 and 8,000 per quintal. NAFED's ongoing sales indicate that the markets are well supplied.
Market analysts expect prices to remain stable or potentially see slight increases, particularly in Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and North Indian markets. This stability is supported by the current level of demand. Additionally, a strong need for seeds should further help keep prices steady. However, the government's ongoing sales of moong are likely to prevent any dramatic price increases.
