Mumbai, 08 Apr 2024 (Commoditiescontrol): Moong prices have exhibited stability over the last 5-6 trading sessions, according to market reports. Prices have largely been range-bound for the past month, attributed to a balance of strong demand, ample supply, and sales by NAFED (National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India).
The Ministry of Agriculture's latest sowing update, released on April 6th, indicates an increase in urad acreage. Currently at 6.52 lakh hectares, this marks a rise from 6.33 lakh hectares the prior year. Odisha has been a major contributor to this growth. Sowing activity remains in full swing, with anticipated completion by the end of April.Summer Moong production has increased significantly in recent years with contributing around 40% of the total crop.
Moong price are expcted to remain rangebound due to steady demand and supply.
