Mumbai, 12 Apr 2024 (Commoditiescontrol):Burma's urad market saw stability with minor gains for FAQ urad (+20,000 MMK/Mt), while SQ prices held. India's CNF trade also remained steady, though Chennai reseller markets saw price increases for SQ and FAQ urad (+$15/Mt).
Domestically, prices for Burmese urad increased, though less sharply than CNF gains in Chennai. Desi urad in the Lalitpur mandi rose by Rs 200/quintal due to strong southern demand for polished urad. Indore bilty trade also saw a Rs 200/quintal increase.
Urad prices are reacting to trends in the Burmese market. With the upcoming ten-day festival closure in Burma, speculative trade may lose momentum. Increased supply from recent Burmese purchases may also limit domestic price increases.
