New Delhi, April 6 (Commodities Control): Cotton arrivals in the markets of India's major cotton-producing states registered at 59,200 bales on Saturday, marking a slight decrease from the 61,500 bales reported on the previous trading day.

In the northern belt, Punjab and Haryana, along with both Upper and Lower Rajasthan, collectively contributed 4,200 bales. Gujarat saw arrivals of 19,000 bales, while Maharashtra reported the highest arrival figures among all states with 25,000 bales.

Madhya Pradesh contributed 3,300 bales. The combined arrival from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana stood at 4,500 bales.

Further contributions came from Tamil Nadu and Odisha, each with 100 bales. Karnataka mandis also reported a steady arrival of 3,000 bales.

Overall, the slight decrease in overall arrivals may reflect a range of factors, including market sentiments, demand fluctuations from the spinning mills, and the seasonal cycle of cotton production.
