New Delhi, April 11 (Commodities Control): Cotton prices remained stable in Andhra Pradesh on Thursday, largely due to subdued demand from spinning mills.
Market observations indicate that spinning mills in the state are exercising caution in cotton procurement, only purchasing as per immediate requirements. This cautious approach is partly influenced by decreased margins for cotton exporters.
Despite the relatively low outstanding stock of Kapas with farmers in the state, there is optimism regarding a potential uptick in local demand for yarn in the upcoming consumption season. Consequently, it is anticipated that purchases from Andhra Pradesh's spinning mills will see an increase in the near future. Alongside Kapas, cottonseed prices also maintained stability in the state.
Today, the daily arrival of Kapas in Andhra Pradesh's markets reached 3,500 bales, marking a notable increase from the 1,500 bales reported in the previous trading session.
