Mumbai, March 11 (Commoditiescontrol): Clove prices reported to be holding steady in various markets, with notable price ranges and market trends. In Kottayam, prices for Comoros clove ranged between Rs. 860 and Rs. 870 per kilogram, while Madagascar clove priced between Rs. 860 and Rs. 880. Sri Lankan clove prices quoted within the range of Rs. 890 to Rs. 920 per kilogram. Following a decline in the previous week, domestic clove prices in Kottayam are expected to stabilize at Rs. 950 to Rs. 980 per kg. The recent stability comes after a period of relative price consistency.
However, the domestic market is facing pressure due to higher supply resulting from increased imports and decreased exports. This shift in supply has contributed to the decline in domestic prices after the market had experienced stability.
In Shimoga, clove prices remain between Rs. 1,000 and Rs. 1,020 per kilogram, aligning with the prices observed in the previous session. Additionally, clove stems in Kottayam are priced at Rs. 160 per kilogram, maintaining consistency with the preceding session.
