Mumbai, March 11 (Commoditiescontrol): Small cardamom prices continue to witness a downward trend in major markets, driven by subdued export and domestic demand. The market update highlights that the demand associated with Ramadan has already been fulfilled, exerting pressure on prices after a recent increase.
The average price per kilogram has seen a decline, dropping from the previous session's range of Rs 1,340-1,450 to Rs 1,306-1,337 in the current session. The maximum per kilogram price has also fallen from Rs 1,926 to Rs 1,780. Despite experiencing an upward trajectory over the past 4-5 sessions, the average price has consistently remained below Rs 1,500 per kg.
Grade-specific rates have reportedly maintained consistency, with prices for 7 mm grades ranging from Rs 1,520 to Rs 1,600 per kg. Grades 7-8 mm are priced between Rs 1,650 to Rs 1,740 per kg, while grades 8 mm and higher command prices in the range of Rs 1,980 to Rs 2,050 per kg.
Arrivals have slightly decreased from 110,278 kg to 91,790 kg in the previous session. The total offtake was reported at 86,466 kg, a decrease from 107,450 kg in the previous session, reflecting the impact of lower arrivals. Demand remains subdued, with a daily offtake rate of 94.2%, which is lower than the previous rate of 95%.
