Ahmedabad, March 22 (CommoditiesControl): Chili prices in major markets have presented a mixed picture, with varying trends observed across different regions. While prices have declined in Guntur, they have seen an uptick in Warangal and Khammam. These fluctuations are attributed to the sharp increases and decreases in arrivals, contributing to an environment of extreme volatility in recent days.
Demand remains strong for Teja and Teja deluxe varieties, which has provided support to their prices in the market amidst the mixed cues.
Arrivals at Guntur and Khammam markets were reported at 65,000 and 15,000 bags, respectively. Guntur witnessed a decline of 25,000 bags in arrivals, while Khammam market reported a decrease of 5,000 bags. Warangal, after a day of closure, reported arrivals of 35,000 bags.
Despite the increased carry-in and higher-than-expected supply, prices are under pressure. However, it's worth noting that prices have already witnessed significant declines from their previous highs. Looking ahead, prices are expected to remain stable or even firm in the future.
