Mumbai, March 22 (CommoditiesControl): Domestic pepper prices in major markets remained stable following a previous session decline, attributed to subdued export inquiries amidst sluggish domestic demand. Prices have witnessed a significant drop of nearly Rs 18,000 per quintal from their peak levels, primarily due to reduced export demand. In Cochin, garbled pepper is priced at Rs 51,900 per quintal, while ungarbled peppers are priced at Rs 49,900. In Karnataka, pepper prices range from Rs 50,000 to Rs 52,000 per quintal.

Meanwhile, in Vietnam, pepper prices have stabilized after a previous session rise. Prices are hovering close to a record level, trading between VND 93,500 to VND 95,500 per kg, marking a 35% increase year on year. However, prices are expected to face downward pressure as arrivals reach their peak.

Global Free on Board (FOB) prices have remained stable across all origins, except for a marginal decline reported in Indonesia.
