New Delhi, March 26 (Commodities Control): Chili prices in key markets like Guntur, Warangal, and Khammam have witnessed a downward trend, showing weakness in the market. The recent days have been marked by significant volatility, characterized by abrupt fluctuations in arrivals, which have contributed to the current scenario.
According to reports, most varieties of chilies have experienced a decline in prices, particularly notable in the Guntur, Warangal, and Khammam markets. Despite the demand for Teja and Teja deluxe varieties remaining relatively high, the overall market sentiment seems to be affected by the prevailing weak cues.
The latest data reveals that the arrivals in the Guntur market surged to 125,000 bags, representing a substantial increase of 55,000 bags. Similarly, Khammam market witnessed a rise in arrivals, with 25,000 bags reported, marking an increase of 10,000 bags. Warangal, another significant market, reported 40,000 bags, indicating a rise of 5,000 bags compared to previous figures.
Market analysts attribute the downward pressure on prices to the surge in carry-in coupled with supply surpassing initial expectations. However, it's worth noting that prices have already seen a significant decline from their recent highs, indicating a potential stabilization in the near future.
The current market conditions suggest a mixed outlook, with the potential for prices to either stabilize or firm up in the coming days.
