MUMBAI, 13 Aug (Commoditiescontrol): White Pea prices prices extended gains for second straight week in a row, as per quality at Kanpur market last week ended on 13th July 2022 on improved buying activity from local and outside traders.

White Pea prices at the Kanpur market traded higher by Rs 125 at Rs 4,850-5,175/100Kg, as per quality.

On other hand, Vatana besan and dal traded unchanged each at Rs 3,700/50Kg and Rs 5,700, respectively.

International markets:

North American field pea markets continued to ease, with harvest activity reported across much of the growing area. The harvest started the week at 19% complete in the United States, down from 38% at the same time last year, but equal to the recent five year average. The Canadian harvest was around 1% complete, down from around 11% last year and the recent average of 4.6% complete vt the end of July.

Trend:Domestic white Pea prices to trade higher due to regular buying to meet immediate requirements. The firm trend in Chana prices will support prices. There is a limited downside from current levels as new crop arrivals has decreased, festival demand is likely to improve in coming weeks and there is no supply from overseas due to import restrictions.
