MUMBAI, April 20 (Commoditiescontrol): The Mustard Seed Procurement Under Rabi Operations (PSS) has benefited a total of 1,15,645 farmers, according to the latest report. The report also reveals that a total of 2,34,001.09 metric tonnes (MT) of mustard seed has been procured under the PSS, with a total value of Rs 1275.31 crore.
The state-wise procurement details reveal that Haryana has procured the highest quantity of mustard seed under the PSS, with 189,632.80 MT valued at Rs 1033.5 crore. Gujarat has procured 16,928.81 MT valued at Rs 92.26 crore, while Rajasthan has procured 9,254.57 MT valued at Rs 50.44 crore. Madhya Pradesh has procured 18,173.41 MT valued at Rs 99.05 crore.
The Mustard Seed Procurement Under Rabi Operations is a scheme launched by the Indian government to provide support to farmers and ensure a fair price for their crops. Under the scheme, the government procures mustard seed directly from the farmers at the Minimum Support Price (MSP), which the government fixes.
