US soybean net sales reductions for August 18-24 at 50,700 MT, down noticeably W/W

NEW DELHI, Aug 31 : US soybean net sales reductions were at 50,700 metric tonnes (MT), a marketing-year low, for the week ended August 24 in the marketing year 2022/2023 starting September 1, down noticeably from the previous week and from the prior 4-week average.

US soybean net sales were at 364,900 MT for the week ended August 17.

Increases primarily for China (105,600 MT, including 53,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 2,400 MT), Colombia (4,500 MT, including decreases of 2,400 MT), Vietnam (1,700 MT), Costa Rica (1,400 MT), and Taiwan (300 MT), were more than offset by reductions for unknown destinations (108,000 MT), Mexico (55,700 MT), and Egypt (800 MT).

Net sales of 1,123,800 MT for 2023/2024 were primarily for unknown destinations (399,400 MT), China (392,500 MT), Mexico (184,400 MT), Japan (50,000 MT), and Taiwan (30,500 MT). Exports of 319,700 MT were down 29 percent from the previous week and 9 percent from the prior 4-week average. The destinations were primarily to China (105,900 MT), Mexico (87,500 MT), Egypt (54,200 MT), Japan (27,700 MT), and Costa Rica (17,300 MT).

Optional Origin Sales: For 2022/2023, the current outstanding balance of 300 MT, all South Korea.

Export for Own Account: For 2022/2023, the current exports for own account outstanding balance of 1,900 MT are for Canada (1,400 MT) and Taiwan (500 MT).

Soybean Cake and Meal


Net sales of 61,700 MT for 2022/2023 were down 14 percent from the previous week and 51 percent from the prior 4-week average.

Increases primarily for Mexico (30,900 MT), Romania (30,000 MT), Venezuela (25,000 MT), Nicaragua (18,500 MT, including 12,000 MT switched from Guatemala and 6,000 MT switched from El Salvador), and Canada (17,700 MT), were offset by reductions primarily for Ireland (60,000 MT), Guatemala (14,600 MT), El Salvador (5,200 MT), the Dominican Republic (2,900 MT), and Costa Rica (2,500 MT).

Net sales of 324,900 MT for 2023/2024 primarily for unknown destinations (205,000 MT), Ireland (60,000 MT), Honduras (17,200 MT), Panama (14,100 MT), and Vietnam (11,500 MT), were offset by reductions for Indonesia (3,100 MT).

Exports of 227,800 MT were down 7 percent from the previous week, but up 5 percent from the prior 4-week average. The destinations were primarily to Colombia (34,100 MT), Mexico (33,800 MT), the Dominican Republic (22,600 MT), Morocco (21,500 MT), and Nicaragua (18,500 MT).
Soybean Oil

Net sales of 1,500 MT for 2022/2023 were down 16 percent from the previous week, but up 49 percent from the prior 4-week average.

Increases were reported for Canada (1,400 MT) and Honduras (100 MT). Exports of 300 MT were down 60 percent from the previous week and 90 percent from the prior 4-week average. The destination was Canada.
