Mumbai, April 26 (Commoditiescontrol):On April 26, 2023, the food ministry notified the allocation of a monthly sugar quota of 24 LMT for May 2023 to 558 sugar mills, which is 1.5 LMT higher than the quantity allocated in May 2022. This increase in quota is expected to stabilize sugar prices in the market, as there will be more supply. However, the additional quota allocated in April 2023 is still present in the market, which may cause traders to be less involved in the first week of May, potentially leading to pressure on ex-mill prices.
