KOCHI (Commoditiescontrol) - The spot pepper prices on Tuesday ruled steady on sluggish activities.

There was not seen much buying interest while sellers were also said to have stayed away from the declining market.

On the terminal market 10 tonnes of pepper arrived. Of this five tonnes each from the high ranges of Kerala and the Kudagu region of Karnataka were traded at Rs 350 and Rs 330 a kg respectively.

Spot prices remained unchanged at Rs 34,200 (ungarbled) and Rs 36,200 (garbled) a quintal.

Indian parity in the international market was marginally up following strengthening of the rupee against the dollar at $5,425 a tonne c & f for Europe and $5,675 a tonne c & f for USA.
