New Delhi, March 5 (Commoditiescontrol): Moong prices in major markets are on a downward trend due to subdued miller demand and the ongoing sales by the National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India (NAFED). The market is witnessing a preference for hand-to-mouth buying as buyers expect the continuation of government sales. The arrival of Rabi moong in the expanding state of Odisha is expected to commence in April, while mandi arrivals in Rajasthan are reportedly low.
Despite the muted demand, the government is anticipated to persist with moong sales, aiming to maintain price stability. Conversely, high demand for good-quality moong is reported in major markets in Rajasthan.
