Mumbai,01 Apr 2024 (Commoditiescontrol):Masur prices remained largely unchanged today during a slow trading session. However, Kanpur saw a rise in both Madhya Pradesh (MP) and Uttar Pradesh (UP) line masur by Rs 50 per quintal, attributed to localized demand.
Trading activity was mostly halted due to mandi closures, but markets are expected to reopen tomorrow.
Imported masur prices also displayed stability, aligning with domestic market trends. Concerns linger regarding the quality of the domestic crop, potentially impacted by unusual weather patterns. This factor is anticipated to keep imported masur prices firm.
The tightening of global masur supplies suggests a potential slowdown in future imports. This development could provide support and strengthen imported masur prices in the near future.
