Mumbai, 17 Nov (Commoditiescontrol): In a recent report from ATRI Brokers, Ukraine's 2023/2024 oilseed harvest has been highlighted as a beacon of progress in the global oilseed market. The report details significant advancements in the harvest of rapeseed, sunflower, and soybean crops, marking a substantial increase in yield compared to the previous year.
The rapeseed harvest, a crucial crop in the oilseed sector, has reached a near-total completion at 98%, producing an impressive 4.0 million metric tons (MMT) over 1.4 million hectares (MLN HA). This figure notably surpasses last year's yield of 3.2 MMT, demonstrating a remarkable recovery and growth in the sector.
Similarly, sunflower crops, a staple in Ukraine's agricultural exports, have achieved a 98% harvest rate. The yield stands at 11.6 MMT from 4.9 MLN HA, a significant increase from the previous year's 9.8 MMT. This growth indicates a resilient agricultural sector adapting to challenges and maintaining its position as a key player in the global market.
The soybean harvest also mirrors this positive trend with a 99% completion rate, leading to a production of 4.7 MMT. This is a substantial increase from last year's yield of 3.6 MMT, underscoring the successful agricultural strategies implemented in the region.
The ATRI Brokers report serves as an encouraging sign for the global oilseed market, as Ukraine continues to overcome challenges and boost its agricultural output. The increased yields in these key crops are not only significant for Ukraine's economy but also play a vital role in the global supply chain, offering stability and assurance to markets worldwide.
